News first, then the line that matters: what changes for a buyer sending parts to a CNC shop.

XPeng's IRON walks itself off the production line
The first high-end general-purpose humanoid to come off an automated line built for it. 76 degrees of freedom, three Turing AI chips at 2,250 TOPS, line core-process automation above 80%.

XPeng is putting car-grade quality systems behind robot manufacturing. Expect the gap between prototype-grade and production-grade humanoid parts to close in 12 months — and the suppliers who can hold H7 fits in aluminum at 10-piece pilot quantity to start winning the next round of work.

Humanoid sector: 40,000 units, 104.1 B yuan in H1 funding
Full-year humanoid output is now projected above 100,000. Domestic brands hold more than 90% of the global share. The money is concentrating in complete machines, dexterous hands, motion control, and embodied-AI models.
What it means for your parts
The market has decided this is real, not a story. That changes the question for a parts shop from 'is the customer funded?' to 'is the customer making parts this quarter?'. Two different BD conversations.

Car makers are not just dipping in — they are building a second business
GAC's Huilun has 50 robots deployed in seven projects, near 10M yuan in orders. Chery's Mojia has raised at a 2.5B yuan post-A valuation. BYD's 'Xiaodi' is in showroom pilots. NIO's head of autonomous driving has spun out an embodied-AI company, with NIO as a strategic shareholder.
What it means for your parts
Car-grade supply chain, car-grade fixtures, car-grade quality systems — all of it is now showing up in robotics. That's the same set of standards XPeng used to build its robot line. The supplier pool is being recomposed around the auto-tier ecosystem.

Liquid cooling 2026-09-04
Liquid cooling for AI servers moves from optional to standard
The CMTBA H1 report names AI-server liquid cooling as one of three demand engines driving the machine-tool industry's 110.8% profit growth. Shenwan Hongyuan's research note says liquid cooling is no longer optional in data-center design.
What it means for your parts
Cold plates, fluid quick-connectors and manifolds are the parts — and they all want 5-axis milling, tight flatness, and leak-free pressure testing. The work is precision, but it isn't exotic, and most of it is in the 10–500 piece range. Right band for us.

Machine-tool industry profits doubled — but the margin is still 3.7%
CMTBA H1 data: 530.9B yuan revenue (+7.6%), 19.6B yuan profit (+110.8%). Average margin 3.7% — still below the 4.5% mechanical-industry average. Machine cutting tools: new orders +20.5%, backlog +19.1%, horizontal lathe sales +45.8%.
What it means for your parts
The industry is making more money, but it's not easy money. The gains are concentrated in shops that have moved up the value chain — five-axis, complex parts, liquid cooling, robotics. General three-axis work is in a price war. Our bet on five-axis and small-batch flexibility is the right side of this split.
